Science week fun in Year 4

Year 4 have become Scientists this week...

Working on the theme of Changes we investigated Skittles in water. Next we made a gloop (properly a Non-Newtonian fluid)  that behaved as both a liquid and a solid! We posed questions and worked scientifically to solve them.

Everyone had great fun and learned a lot. We're all Scientists!

Now we are inspired to continue to investigate at home...

Year 2 bug dancing!

Year 2 worked fantastically in teams to perform sequences of movements as bugs.
They thought about start and end positions, counting the beats and working at different levels.
They then put it all together to the 'caterpillar' by The Cure.

We're getting ready for the ugly bug ball next time!

The owls - busy baking!

In DT this half term we are learning all about bread. This afternoon, half of our class baked Numicon bread while the rest of us investigated flour.

Year 3 World Book Day

Year Three had a fantastic day with their Alice in Wonderland World Book Day theme. The children enjoyed performing a rhyme from the story, reading instructions on how to play croquet and reading clues to solve a tricky riddle! A huge thank you to all children for their fabulous effort with costumes and for enthusiastically sharing their favourite books with the class.

6FM- World Book Day

The Golden Eagles had a brilliant Harry Potter themed day to celebrate World Book Day! The day started with the whole class being sorted into Hogwarts houses. We then read extracts from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, read instructions and designed our own wands, read newspaper extracts from The Daily Prophet, played Quidditch and performed dramatic poetry about dragons!

All four houses showed excellent teamwork and it was very close, but, in the end, it was Slytherin that won the House Cup!

Slytherin team- the House Cup winners!

Here are some more pictures of our brilliant day!
